I. THE ROOST
It's been business a usual around The Roost and with the spring on the way that means that several changes have been happening. It's time for a little spring-cleaning and maintenance as well as some well needed rest and relaxation after a few busy expeditions...
πͺΆ Gryphons. With the warmer weather finally rolling in, it seems the local gryphons are starting to experience a bit of spring fever. The creatures have become particularly vocal this month, practically screeching and yodelling their calls from the tops of the mountains surrounding the Hideaway. They coo and call to one another all month long, which could only mean they're likely in the midst of a ... mating season. The mountain pathways are scattered with molted gryphon feathers, and several of the trees in the denser areas show signs of scratches and carvings, as if the gryphons themselves have been attacking the trunks. Be careful while dealing with the gryphons temper tantrums this month...
β¨οΈ Warm springs. Everyone is aware of the caverns beneath the Hideaway, where crystalline clear pools of soothing mineral water are often used by the crew for bathing, relaxing, or simply unwinding. Although the waters are still a bit cooler due to the recent shift in weather, the pools have begun to warm. With this change, a small school of sunfire goldfish have appeared, drifting through the depths and gently heating the pools with their quiet magical energy. For a time, the waters grow pleasantly warm without becoming overly steamy, making the mineral baths especially soothing and restorative. The fish will vanish at the end of the month, so be sure to enjoy the waters while their warmth lasts.
π€ Chocobos. Don't forget that the crew cares for a small stable of chocobos on the island. As always, the stables require a steady routine of upkeep. Cleaning, maintaining, and making small improvements are all regular tasks that need attention. Be sure to take your turn feeding the chocobos fresh greens, vegetables, and fruit. Roll up your sleeves and lend a hand shovelling and clearing out the stalls to keep their space comfortable and clean. Best of all, make sure the chocobos get plenty of exercise by taking them out for a pleasant, jaunty ride around the island.
π± Spring planting. Fresh weather and gentle winds means it's high time to get spring crops planted. Get the various fields around the island prepped for planting and start planting all sorts of crops to grow. From cucumbers, tomatoes and onions to rows and rows of potato plants. And also be mindful of the swarms of giant dog-sized aphids that have crawled out of the brush as well that want to snack on the newly sprouted veggie plants. Kill them or remove them as best you can before they totally ruin the newly planted crops.

II. UNCHARTED WATERS
For those who have offered their help, Joshua has been tirelessly researching a cure for the Crystal Curse, a blight that afflicts every Dominant aboard the crew. Each time they draw upon their aether or wield their magic, the curse tightens, slowly turning living flesh to stone through creeping petrification.
Joshua has uncovered promising leads that suggest a cure may be possible without forcing the Dominants to abandon their Eikons. The path forward, however, is far from simple... It will require extensive research, careful preparation, and the gathering of rare materials before any true solution can even be tested. Even then, success is not guaranteed.
Despite the uncertainty, Joshua's determination has never been stronger. His latest discovery points toward a rare substance known as Living Copper, said to exist on a small, uncharted island that has yet to be explored. If there is even a chance it could break the Crystal Curse, then there is only one option left! A crew expedition to this uncharted island for the first item on Joshua's list.

πͺ¨ Rocky shores. Coming up on the island is the easy part. It's finding a place to dock and approach the island that is the hard part. The island is overgrown and rocky, leaving no place for the ship to get in close. That means that crew members and helpers will have to find alternative means to get onto the island. Be it braving it in small rowboats to get closer or using magic or other skills to move from the ship's deck to the island shore. Maybe you can fly? Or you have a wind glider or some sort of contraption that can fling you across the water and rocks? Can you carry people over? Find a way forward!
π Snakes. Exploring the island is another challenge. The island itself is incredibly dense with thick overgrown forest and brush. It will more than likely take something sharp to cut down the thick foliage along the way in order to explore deeper. And watch out for the massive sneaky snakes that are slithering about looking for an easy meal. These snakes are clever and smarter than they look, and will wait until you trip up over a collection of vines or over a rock before they strike at you. One wrong move, and you could find yourself being strangled by a massive anaconda-like snake.
πͺΎ Elder oaks. In various parts of the island, massive oak trees can be found. These oak trees are as old as time itself, with tree trunks thicker than a house. These massive oaks tower over everything else and their roots burrow deep and jagged through the entire island. And a closer look a these massive roots might show veins of coppery red that look like the trees are alive with blood inside of them. It's this green-red coppery substance inside the tree roots that needs to be harvested. In order to do that, pickaxes will needed to break into the tree roots, exposing the chunks of wet copper inside. Collect what is possible and bring it back to the ship.
πͺ² Beetles. Farming the coppery veins in the elder oaks won't be an easy task. Exposing the veins will attract swarms of giant beetles that are hungry to eat the exposed copper. These beetles have a thick saliva that can oxidizes metal instantly, as well as melt flesh on contact. And after feeding on any of the copper, the beetle emits a strong magnetic pulse as well that will pull anything metal towards them. Be careful to avoid or kill these beetles and stop them before they eat too much of the precious copper the crew needs...

III. WILDCARDS
Feel free to use this log for any other prompts, manta board posts or logs that happen around The Roost this month.
π»ββοΈ Moogles. As a bonus this month, the crew's resident moogles have been trying to bake their own batches of cookies lately and have been dropping them off on every crew memberβs doorstep. Enjoy!
